The star ingredient of this dish is the oats, and then apples and bananas second. The addition of ground cinnamon, chia seeds, and walnuts gives this baked oatmeal dish an extra dose of antioxidants and phytonutrients.
Oats, known scientifically Avena sativa, are among the most nutrient dense foods you can eat. Oats are great source of carbs and fiber and provide more protein than most grains (1). In addition, they are very high in vitamins and minerals.

The warm tones of apple cinnamon will fill your kitchen with the exquisite aroma, will delight your taste buds, and nourish your body.
Preheat your oven to 350° and lightly grease a square pan with coconut oil or any oil you prefer.
Smash the bananas, 1 or 2 bananas would be perfect. Add the oats, the chia seeds, ground cinnamon, nuts, almond milk and mix.
Peel and remove the core of your apples. Then slice them and cut them in about 1-inch squares. Add them at the top and mix just a little.
Bake for about 20-30 minutes checking every few minutes to make sure the apples do not get too dry.
Remove from the oven and let it cool down a few minutes, then serve warm. Sprinkle ground cinnamon and drizzle some maple syrup or caramel on top. Some chocolate sirup may also work beautifully.
Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container and enjoy within a day or two.
