There is something special about fresh brewed coffee to kick start your morning. Many of us can't start our mornings without our cup of coffee. This French Press Brewed coffee is delicious and easy. All you need is a French press, water, and coffee beans or ground coffee. A food thermometer, kitchen scale, and coffee grinder would also be great additions, but you don't need to invest in these items. Just your French press, ground coffee, and water will make the same tasty coffee. I will show you both methods, so you are fully equipped.

This French Press Brewed Coffee is the best I have every tried. I prefer the French Press coffee method over the coffee maker one. I highly suggest trying both ways, so you see the difference in taste and aroma.
Our morning cup of coffee supplies us with a dose of caffeine, a mild stimulant to our central nervous system that boosts our energy and alertness levels. One cup or 8 ounces of brewed coffee contains about 95 mg caffeine. Eight ounces of instant coffee contains about 60 mg caffeine, and the same amount of decaffeinated coffee contains about 4 mg of caffeine. One shot or 1.5 ounces of espresso contains about 65 mg caffeine (1).
Coffee is not a simple drink; it contains over a thousand chemicals (2). This is why the coffee you make at home is different from the coffee shop. Try to select an organic brand, especially if you drink coffee every day. Olive Magazine has a great article recommending their 20 best coffee beans to shop.

This French Press Brewed coffee is delicious and easy. All you need is a French press, water, and coffee beans or ground coffee.
Coffee beans: If you have a grinder, set your grinder to coarse grind size, and grind the coffee beans. The coffee grinds should be the size of coarse salt. Skip this step if you are using ground coffee.
Heat the water until it reaches 206 degrees Fahrenheit with a food thermometer. The water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit, so just when it starts boiling it will reach the desired temperature. If you do not have a thermometer, bring the water to a boil, and let it stand for 1 minute.
Pour a little bit of the hot water into the French press to preheat it – about 2 tablespoons, then discard the preheating water.
Pour the ground coffee into your French press. As we indicated, it is about 2 2/3 tablespoons of ground coffee or 40 grams. If you are measuring in a scale, place the French press in a scale with the coffee and set the scale to zero (Tare). Pour water until the scale reads 600 grams and make sure the coffee is completely saturated in water. Let stand for one minute uncovered.
After the minute has passed, stir gently to loosen up the natural oils of the coffee. Cover without pressing the filter down and let it stand for 3 minutes.
After the 3 minutes have passed, press down the press gently. Remember this coffee is very hot! Continue pressing down until it is fully depressed.
Pour the coffee into cups and leave the dregs in the French press. Enjoy with your favorite sweetener. I tried with 1 tablespoon agave or coconut sugar, and it is very delicious.
